— Same 1.2L K-Series engine as the Swift, same clutch issue. If you feel a shudder/vibration when releasing the clutch slowly in 1st gear (especially on inclines), the clutch disc is worn. Common on Dzires with 40,000-50,000 km. The entire clutch assembly needs replacement — this worsens and eventually the clutch will slip under load.

— Excessive vibration felt through the steering wheel and gear lever at idle indicates worn engine mounts. Common on Dzires after 60,000 km, especially those used in heavy stop-and-go traffic. The vibration worsens with AC on. Worn mounts also put stress on other components. Rock the engine bay by hand — if the engine moves more than 2-3 cm, the mounts are gone.

— The Dzire's boot hinges and the area around them are prone to rust, especially in humid/coastal cities. Since the boot is the Dzire's biggest selling point, structural rust here compromises the boot seal and can spread to the rear body panel. Lift the boot and inspect the hinge mounting points and the channel where the boot seal sits. Flaking rust (not surface oxidation) means structural damage.
