Drive the car in city traffic for at least 15-20 minutes to feel for harsh shifts or slipping.

— White or blue smoke on cold start that persists for more than 30 seconds indicates worn valve stem seals or piston ring wear. Common on high-mileage Ertigas (80,000+ km) that were not regularly serviced. Blue smoke means oil is burning in the combustion chamber. This is an engine overhaul territory problem — walk away.
